Thames at ²©ÓãÌåÓý: A Roadmap to Post-High School Success

Thames at ²©ÓãÌåÓý is a holistic program designed to help students ease into life after high school with supportive faculty and a strong social network. Whether your student has a learning difference or simply needs additional preparation before college, Thames has the resources and offerings needed for transformative growth.

Thames students take personalized courses, experience college campus life, and gain social confidence within a highly individualized environment focused on independence and leadership skills.

What type of students benefit from Thames?

No student is the same–they embody a wide range of characteristics, learning styles, interests, goals, and perspectives. That’s why Thames is proud to welcome–and celebrate–the power of unique minds. The Thames program can be a great fit for students who are:

  • Neurodivergent
  • Diagnosed with ADD or ADHD
  • Seeking independence
  • Looking to increase self-confidence but motivated to succeed
  • Navigating learning differences or medical issues
  • Coming out of a high school supported program

 

Program Courses & Outcomes

The Thames program is made up of both credited and non-credit courses. Thames students dive into a personalized, pre-college experience by following a course schedule that mirrors a college freshman schedule. Courses include:

  • Introduction to College Writing
  • Mathematics
  • Executive Functioning
  • Social Seminar

 

At Thames at ²©ÓãÌåÓý, we’ll prepare your student to confidently take on new educational or life transitions. We specialize in integrating academic and social learning courses and supports. Students will:

  • Build executive functioning skills
  • Earn up to 15 college credits
  • Benefit from regular one-on-one advising
  • Learn strategies for success
  • Participate in social events and activities
  • Experience living away from home

  • High school transcript (Note: if you complete the ²©ÓãÌåÓý Online Application, your counselor cannot submit documents via Naviance)
  • College transcript (if applicable)
  • Most recent (within last 3 years) Achievement testing (e.g. Woodcock-Johnson, WIAT, Educational Evaluation)
  • Most recent (within last 3 years) Cognitive testing (e.g. Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale–WAIS)
  • Current IEP or 504 Plan (if applicable)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (optional)
  • Student Interview

*You can conduct your interview during a campus visit, or you can contact Admissions to conduct the interview via Zoom. Schedule your interview by emailing admissions@mitchell.edu

  • Transcripts can be sent electronically or via mail

Admission Deadlines

Thames at ²©ÓãÌåÓý follows a rolling admissions policy. Application will be reviewed as they become complete, and decisions will be sent to the applicant within two weeks of the review.

*Exceptions to this timeframe may occur if an interview, additional information, or semester grades are requested in order to make an admissions decision.

2025–2026

  • Annual Program Cost: $68,290

2024–2025

  • Annual Program Cost: $66,300
  • The Thames at ²©ÓãÌåÓý program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA)
